The Department of Sociology is rendering distinguished services to the student community through the academic and extra academic activities, systematically planned throughout the academic year.The students are given hands on experience to bridge the gap between the classroom learning and the real social world.The student centric activities such as seminars,field visits,guest lectures, workshops,documentary making,research activities,screening of the movies and documentaries with a social message make teaching interactive and innovative,thereby facilitating in the overall personality development of the students. The Department is associated with Women Empowerment Cell of the college, through this Cell the girls students of the College are exposed to a wide variety of activitieswhich help in broadening the horizons of understanding the world. The Department in collaboration with the NGO Durga and Women Empowerment Cell of the college organised a Certificate program”Discussion and Dissection of Gender Gaps in Modern India”. The Department conducts workshops on Human rights, celebrates International women’s Day and National Integration Day on regular basis every year. All these exercises prepare the students to face the competitive examinations, and any other career they embark upon.
