Making botany as interesting subject through performing experiments, field visits in natural environments learning the subject. Promoting a scientific temperament understanding through the concepts behind, biological and physiological phenomena and interest towards the subject. Thereby laying foundation for the growth of higher education among the youth and economy of the nation.

The department promotes student centered activities and a scientific congenial atmosphere to learn the subject in natural habitate. They are given opportunity to showcase their talent and knowledge in various branches of botany by interactive approach wherein they takes up research projects, given seminars in current advancement in botany enabling their colleagues to update themselves. It is a regular feature that the department conducts curriculum in-vitro and in-vivo activities in each semester and distributes prize and certificate. Students get trained in various institute. Frequent science exhibitions are conducted in the department wherein the phenomena based working models are displayed by the student volunteers, maintenance of medicinal, herbal garden by the students. The techniques of preservation and preparation of herbarium are regularly conducted to maintain botanical plant collection. Periodic video shows on science topics are a usual noun. Research projects involving UG students inspiring them to pursue higher studies.

The department believes in enabling to understand needs and visualize goals correctly to ones compilating. Have self exploration to fulfill aspiration and understand the living-hood in a respectful manner by using the scientific technology for human needs and values.
