INTRODUCTION
The Department of Economics at Al-Ameen Arts, Science and Commerce College was established in the year1968, with its founder Head of the Department Prof. Fathima Azeez, Since its inception Economics Department is one of the foremost departments in the college, teaching interests that span a broad range of fields which include economic theory, behavioral economics, experimental economics, macroeconomics, monetary economics, economic growth, development economics, Banking, economic planning and different areas of applied microeconomics.
It is a science which helps to improve living standards of the people and society. Economics is a study of utilizing scarce resources to produce valuable goods to fulfill the needs of society and nation at large.
The study of economics equips students with valuable knowledge to make everyday life decisions. The emphasis on case-based learning gives students the ability to solve problems, learn communication and persuasion skills that are critical for the success in today�s job market.
An Economics graduate and postgraduate will have unique skills and employment prospects at State, National and Inter National levels in Banking sector, trade, commerce, healthcare, insurance as Economist, Financial risk analyst, Investment analyst, financial consultant, Data analyst.
Economics helps to identify problems of individuals and economy helps to frame public policies and its impact, helps in decision making and encourage prosperity.
