The Department of History at Al-Ameen Arts, Science and Commerce College was established in the year1968, with its founder Head of the Department Prof. Malika Banu, Here at Al Ameen degree college, the department of History, strives to impart the knowledge of past with its comparison with the present without any prejudice. The syllabus covers various papers such as ancient, medieval, modern Indian History, History of Europe, contemporary world History, History of Far East and West Asia and recently BCU has included new papers that is Women in History, Debates in Indian History and Book reviews.

Those who don't know History are destined to repeat it, quoted by Irish Statesman Edmund Burke. While British Statesman Winston Churchill states, Those that fail to learn from History are doomed to repeat it.

History is not merely a study of the dead rulers or the wars they fought and year it occurred. Rather History is a galaxy of past events that comprises of the rise and fall of the civilizations, human behaviors in different societies, cultural diversities, contribution of people in varied fields in different time zones, movements of people against tyrannical regime and their sacrifices while achieving this freedom; these are only a few been mentioned. However, people under-determine the subject and fail to understand it relevance in the present times.
